What is the difference between a straight or chamfered style cork?

A straight cork has a definite edge to both sides. The chamfered corks edges are beveled, creating a smoother rounded edge. Chamfered styles are used almost always by a hand corker and for smaller quantities, as they seem to have an easier insertion application. Both styles provide the same seal.
